The following example shows how you can add a title icon to a Flex RichTextEditor control.

Full code after the jump.

View MXML

<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
        layout="vertical"
        verticalAlign="middle"
        backgroundColor="white">

    <mx:Script>

            [Bindable]
            [Embed("RichTextEditor.png")]
            private var RichTextEditorIcon:Class;

    </mx:Script>

    <mx:RichTextEditor id="richTextEditor"
            title="Rich Text Editor"
            titleIcon="{RichTextEditorIcon}" />

</mx:Application>

View source is enabled in the following example.

If you want to embed the image within the MXML script instead of ActionScript, you could do something like the following snippet:

<mx:RichTextEditor id="richTextEditor"
        title="Rich Text Editor"
        titleIcon="@Embed('RichTextEditor.png')" />

Sorry, this blog is terrible at eating HTML comments.
If you're pasting any HTML/XML/MXML code, you need to convert your < characters to < and your > characters to > .

You can use these HTML tags and attributes:

<del datetime="">    <strike>
